Biekindle Sculpture Grace

$200.00

Let me tell you a bit more about my artwork and the process behind it. The main shape of my sculptures comes from the knots I tie in threads when I’m stitching or using hand embroidery. I’ve taken that idea and enlarged it with a rope that I tie fabric scraps around. Each piece is unique and can be adjusted slightly by tightening the knots to change the curves.

Here’s a breakdown of what my sculptures are made of:

  • Made from a linen jersey (tanktop) and ocre wool, which gives the sculpture a unique texture and color palette
  • A sturdy rattan rope that provides the structure for the piece
  • The diameter of the rope: ⌀ 2cm
  • The total height of the sculpture is approximately 42 cm
  • Each sculpture is designed to be hung on the wall, with an embroidery loop.

If you’re interested in seeing more about my process and behind-the-scenes work, I invite you to follow me on Instagram. I’m so excited to share my passion with you and can’t wait for you to bring one of my unique sculptures home with you!

About Biekindle Sculpture:

I’m really passionate about creating art pieces that celebrate the beauty of fabrics and colors. I feel like so many clothes end up in landfill, and it’s a real shame. That’s why I decided to create textile sculptures using scraps or damaged clothes that can no longer be resold.

My goal is to bring something of beauty into your home while also reminding you of the workmanship that goes into creating clothing. I’ve always had a huge love for clothes and appreciate high-quality design, which is why I want to help extend their life through my artwork.

Your clothing says a lot about who you are and the stories behind them are precious. As a wardrobe curator, I want to help minimize the number of clothes that end up being forgotten in your closet. And as a designer, I want to show that clothes are valuable resources that should be cherished.

My artwork is all about bringing people and memories together. I call it “heartwork” because it’s more than just a piece of art – it’s an emotional connection. Biekindle, which is derived from “rekindle”, is all about evoking feelings from the past. I use my designer’s eye to create collages that capture the essence of the clothing and get rid of the rest.

I hope my artwork brings you as much joy as it does to me!

Materials
So, let me tell you about the materials in Biekindle sculptures. They’re actually made from upcycled clothing scraps, which means the fabric is cut and fringed in a way that gives each piece a unique and irregular look. You might notice some pilling or color differences, but that’s all part of the charm! These are clothes that couldn’t have another life as a piece of clothing, but they still have so much potential to be something beautiful.

One of the things that makes Biekindle sculptures really special is the way they can interact with your space. Each sculpture has a handmade embroidery loop on the back that lets you hang it on the wall, almost like a piece of wall jewelry. And because of the unique texture and color of each sculpture, it can really play with the light and shadows in your home.

So if you’re looking for something unique and sustainable to decorate your space, Biekindle sculptures might just be the perfect fit. They’re not just art pieces, they’re also a way to celebrate the beauty and potential of something that might have otherwise ended up in a landfill. Plus, they look pretty darn cool!
