Keepsake: remember your favourite clothing memories and add beauty to your walls.

Artworks that carry a message, memory, or metaphor.

Your clothing speaks volumes about who you are. Every piece you’ve collected over the years reveals your personality, habits, identities, and feelings. Each item contains stories of who you used to be and clothes that celebrate who you are today.

Scientifically, our prefrontal cortex activates when we ‘create associations between external things and ourselves through ownership’.* This means our clothes are part of who we are—a reflection of our personality. Acting like memory banks, they are powerful tools that trigger nostalgia, bring happiness, and lift our mood.

As an artist who loves stories and a designer who loves cherished clothes, I transform your clothing treasures into art pieces for your wall.

Sentimental memories

You have an item of sentimental value. A piece that you cannot let go of, and feel like you “want to do something with it”, but now it stays in a box.

This can be a clothing item in a wide variety of occasions;

  • The first outfit of your baby
  • Clothes you purchased for an unborn baby
  • An item of a beloved deceased person
  • Your mother’s nightgown
  • A pair of jeans that traveled the world with you

what others say

I am so grateful for it! At first, I didn’t resonate with the art piece. And then, all of a sudden, I had this overwhelming emotional attachment to it. We both just loved it SO much. It just completely crawled into our hearts and we feel so emotional about it. Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you. We couldn’t be happier. It’s such an emotional piece and we are so attached to it.

--- Commissioned T-shirts that were unsellable due to little mistakes.

What an honour to work with an artist like Biek. She worked on 3 pieces from one old t shirt that was so special to a friend and it turned out to be the perfect gift. Honestly such a great way to commenmorate someone / memory that was also in line in values of reducing waste, mindful consumption and sustainability. Would recommend anyone to work together with Biek to create a one-of-a-kind piece.

Powerful symbol

Clothes can act as a time capsule and evoke powerful memories of specific times in your life.

Certain items can become a symbol for a time in your life, an area of personal growth, or simply the realization of how far you’ve come.

When people engage in nostalgia-inducing activities, research has shown* that they tend to feel better mentally and:

→ Experience higher self-esteem

→ Are more optimistic

→ Feel less lonely

→ Feel more socially connected

→ Are more creative

All good reasons to turn your clothing memories into everyday symbols in your home!

Creating your piece takes about 2-4 weeks. You can be as involved as you like—get updates along the way or let it be a big surprise. Either way, I’ll craft a textile collage that captures its essence and meaning just for you.

Questions and answers

FAQ's

I handle your sentimental items with the utmost care. Understanding the stories, memories, and meaning behind them is essential to my artistic process. I also make sure to use the right needle and thread to preserve the fabric while bringing your piece to life.

I also make textile mobiles and sculptures. And any other items or objects can be discussed. I am very open to ideas to include these clothing memories into your daily life!

We can meet face-to-face in Singapore or over zoom. You can make an appointment by using this link or via any of the buttons on this page.

That is not a problem! It’s all related to the story you want to tell and how it’s connected to your memories. If requested, I can remove most stains and repair minor damage, or it can be used as is when it’s part of a story!

I work solely with natural fabrics or blends where most material contains natural fibres, as these fabrics have the best structure. But I am open to discussing your needs because the synthetic yarns from 50 years ago are not the same as those we use today, and it might be possible for me to work with them.

Once your piece is finished, I’ll apply a protective layer to help repel moisture and dust. I recommend reapplying this treatment every year or so—especially in humid Singapore. Additionally, you can easily dust the surface with a roller from time to time (which I’ll provide for you). I’ve had a few of these pieces in my own home for about two years now, and honestly, I haven’t encountered any issues so far.
